Curiouser and curiouser... I can fall down the rabbit hole when it comes to books, historic architecture, travel, creative pursuits, the arts, culture, outdoor adventures.
Obsessed with elephants (spent a month volunteering in Sri Lanka at an elephant preserve); obsessed with history and architecture (I do a ton of volunteering at historic houses and have done conservation work in Scotland and Armenia); obsessed with the arts (was a ballet/modern dancer earlier in life.) Lived in China for a year, tried dune boarding in Dubai (I was horrible at it!), ridden camels in Morocco, have fished for piranhas in the Amazon. I tend to like to slingshot myself around the world, see where I land, and what I can learn and experience.
But can also appreciate just staying still and am quite skilled in movie watching! Am not a good cook, AT ALL, so quite happy to let someone else be in charge of the kitchen, although am intrigued by baking (that could just be an effect from re-watching the GBBO.) I am quite crafty, though (I tend to simultaneously have multiple projects of all sorts of different things going.) Have tried my hand at both metal smithing and gilding, and perhaps furniture building/restoration is in the future... am much more visual than aural, but always thrilled to go to either the theater or the symphony.
Love going to flea markets and antiquing- everything was made with such style and quality. I am not impressed by flash and cash. Rather, quick wit, humor, intelligence, and generosity are valued.
Although I live in Boston, I am a complete Anglophile, and in non-pandemic times, am in the UK at least 5 times a year. I did a graduate course in the UK, which was not only the best thing I've ever done learning-wise, but cemented my absolute love for all things British.
Obviously I do not work in PR or advertising, otherwise this would be much more scintillating and funny!
